How to form the letter C
One anti-clockwise curve, the key to all the round letters
Capital C (one stroke)

Start near the top, on the right
Put the pencil on the green dot, just under the top line.

Curve up and over to the left
Go anti-clockwise, like turning back the hands of a clock.

Round the bottom and stop
Finish on the right, just above the base line, leaving a gap.
Lowercase c (one stroke)

Start just under the mid line, on the right
The small c sits between the mid line and the base line.

Curve up and over to the left
Same movement as the capital, half the size.

Round the bottom and stop
Finish on the right with a gap, like a mouth that is open.
On the sheet: C is for cat. Say it out loud: "c-c-cat". Can you think of two more C words?
Common mistakes
What to watch for with C

Clockwise c
Starting on the left and going over the top makes a backwards c. Start on the right.

Closed c
The ends curl in too far and it looks like an o. Stop while there is still a clear gap.

Flat c
Rushing makes a c that is wider than it is tall. Slow down over the top of the curve.
